“The rite of Christian initiation … is designed for adults who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts. By God’s help they will be strengthened spiritually during their preparation and at the proper time will receive the sacraments fruitfully.” (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, #1)
If you are an adult curious about the Catholic Church or interested in becoming Catholic, or have been baptized Catholic but never received First Communion & Confirmation, this program is designed to “walk you through.” The program will provide both the necessary information for non-Catholic adults who desire to learn more about the Catholic Church, as well as assist any Catholic who wishes to complete their initiation into the Church.
The RCIA program is ongoing throughout the year and can be entered into at any time. Those completing the process of formation and catechesis enter the Church by receiving Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation at Easter. The program content is delivered through a combination of formal instruction in the tenets of the Catholic faith and scripture reflection of the Sunday Mass readings.
If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about entering this program, please contact the Parish Rectory at 781-762-6080.
