Confirmation I and II
Today, many people see Confirmation as a “graduation” or the “end” of their religious education but it is our hope that this two year program is just the beginning for our young people.
Through fun, uplifting, and informative group gatherings, classroom meetings, retreats, speakers, and service opportunities, our program works to build the following Gospel values in our young people:
- See God in Everything.
- Trust in God Always.
- Stand up for the Poor and Vulnerable.
- Be Courageous.
- Serve Humbly.
- Share the Faith.
Students in grades 9 and 10 meet, on average, one to two times a month for 90 minutes. These meetings begin in a large group setting and then move to a smaller classroom setting. Classes meet eight to nine times over the course of the school year. In addition to these meetings students attend one class retreat, one speaker presentation and are expected to do 15 hours of community service EACH year of the program. In order to be confirmed in the spring of their sophomore year, students must complete both years (grades 9 and 10) of the program.
