Our mission is to deepen our understanding of the principles of Catholic social teaching and then, through word and action, to help integrate these principles more fully into the life of our parish community.
Please join us; we meet on the second Wednesday of each month from September through June. Our meetings are at 7 p.m. in the Teacher’s Lounge, across from the Main Office in the Saint Catherine of Siena School elementary building. For more information, please contact the Peace and Social Justice Committee.
“People say, ‘What good can one person do?
What is the sense of our small effort?’ They cannot see that we must
lay one brick at a time. We can be responsible only for the one
action of the present moment. But we can beg for an increase of
love in our hearts that will vitalize and transform all our
individual actions, and know that God will take them and
multiply them, as Jesus multiplied the loaves and the fishes.” Doris Day
The Advent Giving Tree:
The Saint Catherine’s Peace and Social Justice Committee would like to invite ALL Parishioners to join us in assisting the less fortunate in our community. Come and join us in working on the Advent Giving Tree this coming year. The Giving Tree really is a wonderful project and a lot of FUN too! Please email the Peace and Social Justice Committee if you are interested and have questions.
The Peace and Social Justice Committee sponsors a Furniture Drive annually to benefit the Mass Coalition for the Homeless, an organization that provides furniture and essential household items to individuals and families who are transitioning from homelessness to housing. The 2013 drive is going on through the end of October with pick-ups expected to be scheduled in early November. Please call the rectory, 781-762-6080, if you would like to be added to the donor list.
